The Mother Peak explodes to the north of the town of Skjeggestad, plunging the town into a dark, wet summer that brings famine and murrains with it. Slowly starving, the town begins to negotate with a nearby hive of dragonkin for food. But the negotations fall apart, tensions rise, and a hungry god suggests a way to end the tensions for good - with tragic consequences.
